Does a 64bit UVNC viewer work with a remote 32bit UVNC server an vice versa?
Does a 32bit UNVC server/viewer work (successfully) on a 64bit WinOS (e.g. Win7)?

HI, This means W7 64 bit, intended viewer, with XP 32 bit should be fine. I have set up both with the full program 1.0.9.6.1
I did battle to get the http://support1.uvnc.com/download/10961 ... _Setup.exe, as I kept getting this message. 'might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.'
I eventually downloaded the file on the XP machine and coped the file to the W7 machine. I have used system restore and tried ver 1.0.9.6 and then still not working I installed 1.0.9.6.1 over 1.0.9.6 Still using full install. Should I try as viewer only. I have turned off firewalls - no success here. I can get through from the XP to the W7 but thats not they I want it. Terry Thanks for any help in advance.

Not sure what you mean by "viewer only" -- the two programs, UltraVNC server (winvnc.exe) and UltraVNC Viewer (vncviewer.exe) are fairly independent of one another, and you can have both installed without issue.
I have no faith at all in MS's "System Restore", so I would just uninstall VNC, clean out any remaining registry entries (look for "ORL" hives), and reinstall the latest version.
You'd need to expand on what yo mean by "still not working" -- what error conditions and messages are you getting? What is the network / Internet setup between the two machines?
