UltraVNC 1.0.9.6 does not run on Windows 2000. The OS reports an invalid executable. After digging into the problem further, I have found that the minimum operating system version specified in winvnc.exe is 5.01, which means Windows XP or later.

Would you consider a release of UltraVNC compiled with Visual Studio 2008 so it does not make these unnecessary requirements?

Or just use an older version of UltraVNC? I believe 1.0.6.x (or just before) had Win2000 support.

It would be nice, though,to know that it still worked on things like Windows 98 (one of the last decent versions of Windows).

I disagree with you B, Windows 98 SE was the last decent version of a 16bit OS.
