need procedure to install latest software and encryption
guys, I have been using UVNC for years with issue 1.0. Now my IT department is requiring me to install encryption, specifically AES. I'm looking for a set of instructions how to install the newest issue of UVNC, set up encryption with AES as the choice. If I don't get this working soon, IT will require me to remove VNC and install tunnelling or something that will not work. Thanks, Brent Bergin 972-489-6807 bbergin@cisco.com

1) Grab the bin's .zip http://www.uvnc.com/downloads/ultravnc/ ... 10961.html and a fresh copy of the SecureVNC plugin http://adamwalling.com/SecureVNC/
2) Configure the UltraVNC server with the SecureVNC plugin to you're liking.
3) ????
4) Profit!!!
Don't ask me how to do this with the latest UltraVNC installer as I'm more a fan of the bin's .zip.

Re: need procedure to install latest software and encryption
I have uvnc10961 and adam's dsm (2.0, the latest) installed. When I attempt a connection, it says "authentication mismatch" or something like that. How do I set up the authentication portion? I have clicked on the .dsm file, but when I click on config I get a bewildering set of options. I want to use AES 128 bit, but beside that, what do I do? generate client auth key? password entry? confirm? And do I have to config the VNC at the other end of the connection, and how do I do that?

Once you hit config just type in the password you want (twice) and click close. The default options will do what you want.

Well that was easy. Don't have to generate keys or anything. The password I type in becomes the VNC Password? I can leave the default password at default?

When the SecureVNC plugin is active the other (regular) passwords are not used. They do however need to be set, I just hit the keyboard.
