Hi,
So far I've only had one successful connection with ChunkVNC. The principle of the thing is great and would work well for what I need it for but it doesn't seem to run so good when actually being used. A few issues that I'm having are as follows:
1. When testing, I was "pretending" I needed support from myself on my laptop. It takes some time for ChunkVNC to generate an ID. This isn't a very big problem because it's under twenty seconds I'd say, so if someone needed support that isn't a big deal.
2. After I have my given ID, I put it into the viewer and it takes forever to connect to the other machine. I've only actually had it connect once, every other time I've given up and closed the window. Obviously I need to get it running smoothly before I try to use this with some customers.
Are these issues that everyone has or can they be solved for me? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Speed Issues
Re: Speed Issues
Hi,
Typically I find that connections are within seconds of initiating the connection. Once connected, I occasionally find the response lags a little depending upon network speed (I'm on wireless). In other words, I hit a key and it's not instantaneous in appearing in the viewer... it's certainly within acceptable limits. Most times I feel like I'm sitting at the client's machine.
Bottom line: ChunkVNC works !very! well.
Questions:
1. are you looping back to the same machine for your test? There are always issues with that sort of test.
2. what are you using for your repeater?

Re: Speed Issues
Why don't we test it with a remote connection? Go to here, arrange a time with me, (I'm on GMT +10), then download and run the Remote Support utility there. Then we can see exactly what you're doing and possibly suggest something.
Re: Speed Issues
Speed issues usually are caused by high latency connections (ie: wireless, satellite) but often times are caused by slow CPU's.
Running the Repeater on the same network as the Viewer can increase speed a bit.
More information is required, please answer JonD's questions about where the repeater is located.
