Cant switch monitors/displays

Post by Dohtore »

How to switch between monitors?
Im able to switch from display1 do all displays (in my case 2 displays).
So now im able to see display1 and display1 and display 2 together, but it is not allowing me to see only display2.

Is there a 1.0.9.6.2 version? I'm having a problem with 1.0.9.6.1 where some computers get hung up on "Negotiate Protocol Version" and never work again, and I was hopeful there was actually a newer version to try out.

I don't think so, not yet at least.

I know my post doesn't have anything to do with the original post, but I thought I'd follow up with what I found my problem to be.

The computers where VNC was broken were fixed by running the following command on them:

netsh winsock reset

Apparently, the local winsock configuration is getting hosed and this command resets it. We also use the Forefront TMG Firewall client and running this reset breaks that so it has to be re-installed after. But everything is good to go now. :)

Good for you Ben, but please check things out carefully -- that command is often necessary after a nasty trojan mucks with your network stack. To be completely safe you might consider reformatting/reinstalling OS and applications.

Of course it's also possible that your firewall software is entirely responsible.

(Since UltraVNC just uses the network stack (it doesn't alter it) I can't see how UVNC itself could be adversely affecting anything.)

We are researching the source of the problem now, but the last time we encountered this it was the latest version of Sophos that caused it. We had to wait for them to release a "fixed" version before we could upgrade. I'm comfortable this isn't a malware/virus/trojan-induced issue, but we'll find out eventually. :)

And confirmed another new version of Sophos has struck again. Awaiting our new "fix" ...
