More detailed error message

Post by guest12345 »

Is it possible to make different and more concrete error messages, when the connection fails instead of only one with lots of possible reasons?

There are too many reasons offered in this single error message.

It says "Connection failed - Error reading protocol version. Possible causes:"

- You've forgotten to select a DSMPlugin and the Server uses a DSMPLugin
- The selected DSMPlugin is not compatible with the one running on the Server
- The selected DSMPlugin is not correctly configured (also possibly on the Server)
- The password you've possibley entered is incorrect"

Better would be:
1. It should not suggest reason 1 if I've selected a DSMPlugin on the viewer.
2. It should be able to check itself if the server and the client DSMPlugin are compatible and only give this error message if they are not
3. It should be able to check if the entered password is correct.

I don't know the reason yet why my connection fails but it is none of the above. I'm using desproxy and somewhow it can't connect to the vncserver pc via it. So the vnc viewer seems to give the above error because of the returned result from the proxy server (which wrongly says the host pc would be down)
