Client Log?

Post by Cheval »

I've had 1.0.9.6.1 installed for less than half a day and been connected to the updated server with the same version for 3 and 4 hour periods with no problems other than the double connection issue. I tried to connect again and now I get the failed to connect to server error. I've checked the other servers running 1.0.9.5 and 1.0.2 and they are still running perfectly.

Funny, I've never had an issue with 1.0.2 (as long as multi-display that had the primary on the left was fine and you wanted to see a big version of both screens combined), 1.0.9.5 had the multi-display problems when trying to show both at different resolutions and 1.0.9.6 needed a reboot just yesterday which I why I was asking about 1.0.9.6.1 being released.

I'll make a call to the remote site tomorrow to reboot the machine again, but I would like log both the process on both the client side and the sever side to help debug these issues.

Activate the server log, i don't think it has anything todo with the viewer.
Check in taskmgr that 2 winvnc.exe are running ( 1X service, 1x application)

Looks like winvnc.exe ( app part) failed to restart by the service.
*hidden popup asking button press
*winvnc crashed and popup telling it crashed
*...

What's the OS?
You can try to activate telnet so at least you can login and use the cmd line to
start stop the service or verify what's going on.

A reboot erase all info...
Perhaps the eventviewer still has some traces..

Rudi: The server OS is WinXP32.

The service had crashed and took some time to stop. It then would not start again cleanly without a reboot. I've now turned on the logging, so we'll see what's up hopefully.

The event log only mention connection made and disconnected. Even for the times that it reported to a connection failure to me on the client side.
