Can we get these features in SC? Please!!!

Post by californiajeff »

1.) When running multiple VNC windows with SingleClick it just lists WinVNC in the titlebar. I would like to have the computer name and ip address listed there instead. This is what ExpertVNC does and I am sure they grabbed that feature from UltraVNC somewhere. This will also make it easier to work with multiple VNC sessions at the same time.

2.) Chat feature does not seem to work. (Not a critical feature but would be nice if it worked).

I think we need to not have our IP show up during a chat with SC it should say live support or Operator or something. I thought the chat worked?

Would it be possible to have the above request implemented? Any insight as to whether it is possible or not with SC?

Chat works for me using the latest SC build and rc19.4 on the client.

I'd also like to see some differentiation between SC sessions - preferrably the machine name.

Upon further testing chat works fine. It appears the problem I encountered with that was the box I was having SC connect to had like RC12 on it. I upgraded that box's UltraVNC to RC19.4 and it works fine now.

Still need to have the other implemented though. I would like to see the enduser's computer name and ip address show up in the titlebar instead of winvinc.

I can show computer/username
ip will not make a lot of sense (NAT adress)

Fixed names in windows can be added with some extra
helpdesk.txt, so you can put on what you want as title

Any special windows for fixed name ?

Bugs start finaly more and more to disapear in RC19.
When RC19 is ok, i start importing the SC code to the latest version.

Sorry about the above post as "guest", I thought I was logged in.

Anyways, I think the computer name and ip address would be really helpful if you could implement that. I have clients that are directly on the internet. So by seeing their computer name and ip address that would really help me out. Especially, if I have multiple connections at the same time. Thanks.

Yeah the computer name addition would be awesome..
I love the idea about helpdesk.txt holding the windows title.

Awesome little program .. thanks for all the hard work on this.

Idea to do it different

SC will get another rfb number, this allow me to send some
extra data before the actual connection is made.
+I can send the full hardware/OS/user information
+depending on the info, you can decide to accept or reject the incoming connection.

Lets all say THANK YOU ..

especially for the rejection option :-) funny users all like to connect at once.

If you can make it just like regular UltraVNC and have the computer name and ip address in the titlebar. Thank you!
