Hi,
i have windows 7 home premium 64 bit. There i am using freesshd for ssh connections. For working on this PC via remote connection i do following:
1. starting putty on my local PC and logging in
2. on putty console i start winvnc.exe (version 1.0.5.3) on remote PC (i type "d:\uvnc_v_1053\winvnc.exe")
3. starting on my local PC vncviewer.exe
So far so good - it works. But if i replace winvnc.exe with the latest version (version 1.0.9.6) i get the Message form vncviewer.exe "Ultravnc running as application doesn't have permission to access UAC protected windows. The is screen is locked until the remote user unlock this window" - red Message in a black windows...
What can i do, to solve this problem. Why winvnc.exe (version 1.0.5.3) works and winvnc.exe (version 1.0.9.6) don't so.
winvnc.exe should not run as a service! - i should be a portable app.

Does 1053 realy works ?
On UAC popup, winvnc 1053 disconnect while 1096 show stay connected and show the red message.
The goal of UAC is to block all application messages between elevated windows and standard admin windows.
If it works with 1053, MS has a real security hole as it would alow a non elevated window to inject messages in system windows...

Re: UAC protected problem
...yes, it works. But i changed the Option (User Account Control, UAC) to the lowest security level. I don't know if this interact with ultravnc. But how can i solve my problem? I want to start winvnc.exe via ssh-console to interact with the remote-PC. It is for the posibility to work with my office-PC while i am not in the office.

Re: UAC protected problem
do you see the winvnc tray icon
in what session does ssh start winvnc, who is the owner of winvnc. ( taskmanager)
in what session does ssh start winvnc, who is the owner of winvnc. ( taskmanager)
Re: UAC protected problem
yes - i see the winvnc tray icon. The owner of winvnc is "Jan Zimmermann" - the same owner, he is logged in. What did you mean with "in what session does ssh start winvnc"? If i start winvnc.exe manually - i can use it with putty and vncviewer.exe
Re: UAC protected problem
If i start winvnc.exe manually - i can use it with putty and vncviewer.exe - sorry was not so clear - What I meant to say ... if i start winvnc.exe manually on server PC (double klicking the programm icon directly with the mouse)
