Chat and Filetransfer at the same time, no?

Hi!
After testing around various solutions for a few days I came to decide for ChunkVNC, I simply like the slick and simple way it utilize UltraVNC, so now I'll finally be able to build a remote support solution that even my (often Pc Muffins) customers manage to understand Great!

However, I noticed a "problem" with the Viewer - it doesn't allow me to have a chat and file transfer window open at the same time :=(

I understand the viewer is a component of UltraVNC but searching the full forum I couldn't find anyone complaining about this, which I would expect as I see this as a major limitation.

I tested to replace your 1.0.9.4 files with originals from 1.0.9.6 which basically works, although uvnc viewer complains "The Plugin cannot be loaded. Please check its name integrity." and then connect w/o encryption (any idea about that?).

But it still seam to have the same issue with not allowing the 2 windows to be open at the same time, is this after all a known issue/limitation with the UltraVNC Viewer?

It's a limitation of UltraVNC unfortunately.

I'll put a note down to look into adding chat functionality between InstantSupport and ChunkViewer directly as you aren't the first person to ask.

yettyn, I always just open up Notepad.exe for chatting. Or type right in the person's browser URL box, or in the Start,Run box for a quick note.

But I could see how people would want the feature.

Well most of my customers are well below average when it comes to handle a computer, which is the main reason I need to connect to their desktop as they usually wont follow instructions, or can't I may say. The notepad.exe solution wouldn't work here otherwise it's slick.

It will have to do as is for now but strange this doesn't seem to have been up to discussion at all in the forum, although I didn't look through the very oldest of the hits I got on search.

Is this that hard to implement in UltraVNC as other solutions I have tested doesn't seem to have this problem?

To each his or her own; I find chat windows and controls MORE confusing than a blank canvas in Notepad (or Word, etc.) and people seem to get the hang of it quickly.

I don't know how hard it would be to fix. It would have to be feature request to Rudi I suppose; as far as I know he's really the only UltraVNC developer at present. (Chunk and other programs are spin-offs that mostly don't touch the core UltraVNC code.)
