forbid user to close vnc not working

Post by sukhkawal »

hi, i have installed vnc 1.0.9.6 as a service on my win 7. and i have also checked "forbid user to close down winvnc". but it can still be closed by using task manager. 2 entries show up on task manager . first winvnc.exe which is for the service, then winvnc.exe again which is for the program, now if i terminate the program process, then the program closes and loads back up, but if i terminate the service process first , then the program process, then winvnc closes and does load back up, ANY way to fix this?

quoting myself here, well i found a fix, if you go to the services.msc, and find "uvnc_service" . and make sure you highlight "restart the service" for all failures. the only thing is it wont restart right away, but within 1 minute. i never had to do this in 1.0.9.5 though, maybe because i had winxp before.

well another question, is will the service automatically startup on reboot all the time? yo can probably get what im trying to do here. i just dont want anyone to close ultravnc without my permission, so if i can do something else to restrict , also let me know, thanks for your hard work.

The only "right" way to do what you want is to simply not allow anyone else to sign on to that machine with administrative access.

If you do let someone sign in with administrative access, they can simply stop and/or disable the VNC service, regardless of its restart settings.
