Hi.
I have 2 boxes. One runs Ubuntu 10.4 and another Windows XP Pro (SP3).
I'm using "vncviewer.exe" (1.0.9.6) to connect Ubuntu box from Windows XP one. All work fine exept "Scroll-lock" feature i.e. when Scroll-lock turned on "ALT+TAB", "WIN+TAB", etc do not sent to remote server.
Should it work "out of the box" or it need extra configuring done beforehand?

Re: Scroll-lock does not work on Windows XP to Ubuntu
It should work out of the box, but I don't know whether that includes crossing from Windows to Linux. What Linux VNC server are you using?
Re: Scroll-lock does not work on Windows XP to Ubuntu
winvnc admin properties
try enable Japanese keyboard (older uvnc)
or
alternate keyboard method (uvnc 1096)
your linux vncviewer should support 102 keys
also try ssvnc viewer
otherwise, don't know since my experience is limited to windows.

I thought the OP was going FROM Windows TO Linux.
redge seems to think it's going FROM Linux TO Windows.
Which is it, smerch?

2 B it's FROM Windows TO Linux.
I'm using [default] Ubuntu 10.4 package vino ver. 2.28.2-0ubuntu2 as VNC server.

Re: Scroll-lock does not work from Windows XP to Ubuntu
Ok. I guess I should clarify my issue.
By telling "does not sent to server" i mean that if I press "Alt+Tab" it invokes task switcher on Windows XP (client host) rather than on Ubuntu (server host). Of course "Scroll-lock" is turned on.
So IMO it looks like client do not intercept that key combination.

Re: Scroll-lock does not work from Windows XP to Ubuntu
Well, that's peculiar then. Thanks for the clarification. I wouldn't have guessed that it was still doing local task switching even with Scroll Lock lit. (It does light, right?)
What if you try a different version of the UltraVNC viewer? Right now I'm doing it fine between a 1.0.8.2 viewer and a 1.0.8.0 server (modified ChunkVNC setup).
The VNCViewer.exe from each version is pretty much standalone -- you can extract it from the archive or copy it from an installation directory and use it at will.
