You can use the viewer 10951 or 108
You can only use the included plugin, same plugin need to be used for the viewer.
rc4.key need to exist ( you can use this key or generate an other for testing)
Same key need to exist on server and viewer.

Winvnc.exe (sc version) has been updated to faster handle screen capture
on Vista and win7.

You can add the
[WALLPAPER]
to keep wallpaper and aero ON
(default is OFF)

Don't forget to change the helpdesk.txt ip addresses to your own.

Why only stick with the MSRC4Plugin.dsm ?
In my test, this version works perfectly with SecureVNCPlugin 2.3

Also, the provided MSRC4Plugin.dsm is version 1.2.2.0.
Why not the latest 1.2.4.0 ?

Other Issues:

5 min try period
Have you verified this feature ?
At least on XP, the winvnc.exe will terminate at once (less than 5 seconds) if not got connected



Procotol Version
If the viewer is 1.0.9.5, once connected the procotol version reported is 3.6
If the viewer is 1.0.8.x, the procotol reported is 3.16

I only tested it with the included MSRC4Plugin.dsm (16k).
Yep, possible it works with other but to simplify testing and avoid plugin trouble...you best test it first with the included plugin.


Protocol version.
rfb 3.6 and 3.16 are both non official rfb protocols.
To be able to use then we need to do a little trick.

3.6= ultra_server+FT supported
3.6+10=FT supported and show "accept"

Trick:
After the "accept" we subtract 10, rfb3.16->rfb3.6
Now rfb < 3.7 and we can proper handle it.

hello everyone and thanks for the update!

I'm a heavy user of UltraVNC. Does this versions solve previous issues, like display updates that stop, file transfer of folders, etc. (topic [topic=26975][/topic])

On the latest months I was using UltraVNC full, sfx with custom command line to act like SC, but the size is 4 times bigger.

I've build a sfx with the new SC and I'm testing it. I'll leave some sessions opened for hours.

Update: So far, I've confirmed the following:

1. right now I've seen that, when working with 2 SC sessions and start a second file transfer the first just stops and the second doesn't begin;

2. file transfers of folders doesn't work, it compresses, seems to do the transfer and at the end files doesn't exist;

3. seems to 'hold' keypresses, CTRL for instance;

Please let me know if you need more info or if I can help.

FT folder transfer require the zip dll's. ( like in the old version)

The dll's need to be added to the sfx archieve , or for testing just copy then in the same folder as winvnc.exe. Else unzip doesn't exist and sc can't work with folders.

changes:

-The update use the new capture engine ( Vista/win7).
-There was an error corrected -> If server had a 2 monitor system,
and moving window from A->B crashed the server.

SC use VC6.0 and is based on ultravnc 1.0.0.
We can only make minor changes, code of the newer ultravnc
versions doesn't compile on it.

The new exe has not been added to the online creators.
It will replace update 2009 in the future.
Feedback was only from a few users....

Current Rel 1.00 allow to add your own winvnc.exe.
So yould add this winvnc.exe to the zip you upload, then it replace the default exe.

To test:
You just need to unzip this test version, modify the helpdesk.txt and
manual exe winvnc from this folder.
If you zip the bins after test, you can upload it to Rel1.00 to create the
sc exe.

I am having good stable fast connections on win7 and vista with this update.

Here is my problem. My customers have several windows open that display live data updating in real time. I can only get one window to work at a time by clicking on it and then its alive then the other stops updating. I tried changing the update options in properties of the server but they do nothing and do not appear to be saved after I apply. This was the same situation with the 2009 sc update.
Any idea....

option poll foreground is on;then only the window with the focus get updated.
Posisble this take priority over the pollfullscreen or the options has been hardcoded in the little exe.

Hi All.
Listen, i like SC very much. I'm trying to use it successfully with Win7 or Vista 32/64 bit, as former releases (turbo with 2003 or xp) are so slow.
I download latest template, modified helpdesk.txt but used the winvnc.exe as it was!!!
Please explain me.
What does it mean "modify .. and manual exe winvnc from this folder"??
Have i to upload from UltraVncSC based on REL1.00 after i put into the zip file the winvnc.exe downloaded from SCII 1.0.0?

If you added [UAC] yes. else it should run as normal user.
Only as normal user, sc can't controle any applications that request elevation (uac). AS sson as a uac app is open, sc is view only.

I have found with 7zip self extracting exe, windows 7 always asks for escalation. this is one of the biggest pains with 7 IMHO ...

Hi all.
I need a suggestion. working on SC i see that with 64 bit, but not 32 bit Seven, sometimes UAC or Aero do not go down.
So connections are very very slow!!!

Does exist something like [DIS_UAC] for Aero (even if it should be the default) with SC or some string more for winvnc.ini (or which is the one for Aero?).

I used winvnc.exe, one 32bit and one 64bit from latest Ultravnc setup.
