I have Ultra VNC 1.0.8.2 installed on my home and office computers. I can connect from my home to my office computers and it is close to real time in using the remote computer. But when I connect from my office to my home it is very, very sluggish. Sometimes it may take 20 - 40 seconds for the screen to change or update. It is very frustrating to say the least.
Does anyone have any clue of what I can check to get this working correctly?
Both places have 6 meg up and 768k down DSL. Both locations use a Linksys Wireles router, but all desktop computers are hard wired via CAT6. My office computers are just on a small LAN using that wireless Linksys router and a gigabit switch, same for home. I use Commodo Firewall on my personal office pc and home pc. My other office pc's run Zone Alarm, but again, I have not problems connecting to my office computers.
The only difference I can think of is my office has a static public IP address, where my house has a dynamic IP address. I use NO-IP to route to my server...e.g. xxxxxxx.zapto.org:5900. could that make the difference?
What are the optimized settings for making the fastest connection incoming to a Ultra VNC server pc?
