Properties window size

Post by chris@gensler.to »

Nobody running servers at 640*480 resolution any more?

Would be very kind if one would re-design the properties windows (admin properties) using tabbed pages, to keep them small enough to fit on a small desktop.

Hard to click a button that's out of sight.

Are you sure it is bigger...
RC19 was something like 400x600, causing probs for the OK button in VGA mode.
For RC20 we use 600x400, this have to fit on a VGA window.

Tabs is nice, but it require a lot of code writing. Vnc is no MFC
application, all controle code need to be added by yourself.
Perhaps after Rel1.00, to risky for errors.

yes, the code looked so much like that. dirty messy memcpy and WM_* stuff.

agreed. 1.0 is the primary goal for now. this isn't emergency.

let me remind you...

as you can see, reducing(or moving out) unnecesery items and using combo boxes makes dialogue look small, simple and better.
and i think that's the way TightVNC has taken.

Don't worry, property window is going to be re-tweaked befeore V1 to be as small as possible but still readable, and without tabs (for now).

Even in 1280*1024 I find it too big... :P
