Re-using the mirror driver

Post by bridge »

I am assuming that the mirror driver has not changed for quite a while. With this in mind, is a valid approach to upgrading UltraVNC on computers to leave the mirror driver installed and simply upgrade UltraVNC? I want to make sure that re-using the mirror driver from 1.0.8.2 installations is an appropriate strategy when installing 1.0.9.5 (the pending 1.0.9.5.1), or other versions released this year.

Thanks.

108 use the same mirror driver ( reffered as mv2).
You don't need to uninstall/install.

Fast testing
1) replace winvnc.exe
2) replace vncviewer.exe
3) replace schook.dll if used
4) use new plugins

No need to replace the other files

If 1095 is installed new version are replacements for the exe
(vncviewer and winvnc)
