ChunkVNC "Fork" - unable to compile

Post by kronostar »

OK I must really be doing something wrong.

After downloading v3.1j I made changes to the ChunkVNCSupportDefs.au3 in the SRC directory. I then ran InstantSupportCompileAll.exe found one level up from that. When it didn't work I looked into the InstantSupportCompiler.au3 and found that I needed to rename ChunkVNCSupportDefs.au3 to InstantSupportDefs.au3. No problem easy to do. After that I tried it again and the compiler started. I clicked on the "Click Me!" button and the compiler brought up a dialog box with the repeater I had entered in the "Defs" file as well as the server and repeater port numbers. I then clicked the "Compile!" button. At this point UltraVNC Viewer opened. Not sure if this was part of the process I went and had lunch and came back. Still there. I tried clicking cancel hoping the process would continue but nothing happened. I used Task Manager to kill the compiler. I then tried it again. This time when the Viewer came up I tried filling out the info and connecting to the server. Unfortunately I have not finished setting up my repeater. The compiler remains open regardless of what I do with the Viewer so far ... all fields in the compiler window can be changed still and the "Compile!" button can still be clicked however the arrow changes to an hour glass when over the compile button.

When all the above failed I tried d/l the file again and just using the defaults (except for the Defs file name change). Still didn't work. I even tried d/l 3.1i but that didn't help either. I am sure I am doing something stupid or just missing something. Can someone point me in a direction?

Seems to only work when installed using ChunkVNCRemoteSupport_Install_3.1j.exe but does not work without running the installer.

Please keep discussion about the Fork in that thread, glad to see you were able to figure it out. :)
