VNC Viewer not connecting to servers with a VNC password set

Hi,

I am having difficulty with UVNC viewer (1.0.9.5 - although 1.0.9.1 caused the same issue) in that the viewer will not connect to a server that requests a password to be entered. However, I can connect to the same server and see the password prompt when using an older UVNC version (specifically,1.0.5.4).

The VNC viewer status with tells me that the Status is: "Password Requested", or "Connecting", but in either case the password box is NOT shown and I can't connect or log in.

I do use the SecureVNCPlugin.dsm security plugin to connect to some servers, but on these instances, I have deselected this option.

Any ideas?

PS - I should say the viewer is running under Windows 7, but I don't think thats the issue.

could you clarifiy
do you use proxy or anythin special config ?
vncviewer 1.0.9.5 OK
what the vnc server version and OS ?

without proxy, no problem with vnc authentication.
did you reboot the host of vnc server after disable dsmplugin,
some time is required reboot for succes change.

I am having the same issues with viewer version 1.0.9.1 and 1.0.9.5. It did work with viewer version 1.0.8.0.
No proxy is used.
VNC server version is RealVNC E4.5.1 on Windows XP.

if you have RealVNC E4.5.1 server
simply use RealVNC E4.5.1 viewer

why need ultravnc viewer ?
You won't have any feature of ultravnc
don't understand the logic.

another way, try 1.0.9.5.1 if solve your issue with realvnc enterprise edition
