Works in LAN, but no online? (Connection established)

Post by mrmut »

Hi People!

I am just trying Chunk, and it seem great peace of software, however I can't get it to work outside of LAN.

I've port forwarded the two needed ports. It works in local LAN, but not externally. Repeater runs on the on the same PC as Viewer, and I use Dynamic DNS (usual SC works normally).

LOG is:

Viewer added to list ######
ID added ######
recv -1 (this after i click cancel, as it always says that 0 Bytes Received)
ECONNRESET detected
Viewer removed from list ######

EDIT:
It just says connecting, but it doesn't time out:

Any idea what could it be?

Thanks

You say that InstantSupport works on the LAN, I'll assume this means you see the repeater log saying "Server added to list 123456"

Do you run any software firewalls?

Have you tried the ready to run version just for a test with a known working repeater?

Have you verified with http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ that your repeater ports are open?

Are you running InstantSupport outside of your LAN when testing the WAN address (testing externally)?

I am having some problems with ready to run versions. I think my system might be in question. Will move to another system, re-test and get back to the thread.

Sounds like a good idea, the RTR versions should be rock solid unless one of the RTR repeaters went down (just tested and both worked).

Things to keep in mind: Software Firewalls and Virus scanners can cause issues with ChunkVNC, try disabling for a test.
