It seems at some early point in the life of UltraVNC it had a -portable switch that would allow the application to save settings to a file in a directory rather than use the registry to store them.
From the best info I can find it looks like this was an option in 1.0.5 and probably 1.1.0.2.
Is there still some sort of portable switch available, but I can't find it in the docs anywhere nor when running vncviewer.exe /?
If not, can this get "re-"implemented?
The reason I ask, is I'm looking at packaging this for PortableApps.com
Thanks!

Re: Portable switch
Anybody? I'm trying to get this project going now, but I haven't heard anything.
Bueller....Bueller....Bueller...Where's Bueller??

Actually, I've heard that's where they've already gone, putting most everything in INI files rather than the registry, but my own anecdotal experience does not seem to bear that out. (Lots of weirdness that can only be adequately explained by registry remnants.)

Re: Portable switch
At least in 1.0.8.2 which is the latest DL on the site, I can't find it storing anything in any ini files...the only place I see anything is in the regshot...so...

Re: Portable switch
Hi, I'm Machete, from portableapps.com. I put the project on hold for several reasons, the two most important ones were these:
1 - It seemed fully-functional as it was.
2 - I made these changes without any apparent knowledge of the official uvnc team.
The original post at portableapps.com is here, my last post is regarding the .ini file in question (which only applies to the SERVER, not the viewer, unfortunately).
Now, I'd like to pick it back up, since 1.0.9.1 stable has broken it, sorta. It's using a newer RFB revision (3.6 vs 3.8), and so the vncviewer I used, as written, doesn't think the server is able to transfer files. There are some other nice things the newer viewer has, and having a vncviewer that supports both RFB 3.6 and 3.8 would be nice.
To fix that, I'll need access to the source code, and the links to the source for 1.0.9.1 (not svn, etc, I want the STABLE version, if possible) are broken, and I haven't been able to find a mirror.
So, in a nutshell, and I'm sorry it's taken me this long, if I can get a copy of the source, I can modify it, again, and I'll post it on portableapps.com, and at least a link to said post here.
