User Account Control closes connection

Post by iantresman »

Have just installed uVNC server on a new Windows 7 machine. I'm able to establish a connection, but every time a User Account Control (UAC) window pops up, I'm kicked off the machine and the connection closes.

I've tried running uVNC server as an Administrator, but that does not seem to make a difference.

Using uVNC on the previous machine seemed to work without problem, but I can't recall what else I can configure? I'm not running the uVNC service, and haven't before.

1) winvnc installed as service: It can handle uac and allow you to remote click on the uac popup and control elevated applications.

2) winvnc running as application, can't handle the uac popup.
using the -sc_prompt or -sc_exit you prevent the viewer from closing,
but the remote user need to accept each popup. Also, running as application, uac elevated application are view only.
