schook.dll for what?

Post by Yod4z »

This dll seems to do some problem in deconnexion of chunkVNC with timeout before closing. Why continue to use it?

Without this DLL i see no prob to control XP or Vista PC.

It increases VNC performance similar to the way the mirror driver works.
Legacy file at this time, it helped much more with the older versions of UVNC.

3.2 is scheduled for release this weekend, I've already removed the need for this file.

it seems on Windows 7 64bits without this dll the refresh of the tray icon on viewer side is really slow or not functional

Vista and 7 performance seems to be better installed at a service as well.

Small updates such as a right click menu work better with the schook.dll.

The main reason I want to remove the file is because it's closed source from a separate project Rudi worked on.

Sorry that was confusing, Vista and 7 have less screen update problems when installed as a service imo.

I'll have to play with it more as well but the goal is to ditch the file anyways.

on vista and win7, with schook, you can let aero and sidebar enabled
win7 work very well with capture alpha blending disabled. no mice flash, perfect.
vista need capture alpha blending enabled, otherwise, you won't see pop up and sidebar.. bad side effect... mice flash on vista
without sacrify performance update.

without SChook, you must disable aero and sidebar, otherwise, very slow screen update to vncviewer and very busy CPU at vnc server
