New NIC, no VNC

Post by Guest »

I installed a wireless card and ever since, VNC hasn't worked. Previously the computer was wired. I tried reinstalling, but that did nothing. Is there a setting I missed that binds VNC to a specific card?

Have your 2 cards a seperated subnet.
BAD
192.168.1.10
192.168.1.11
netmask 255.255.255.0
GOOD
192.168.1.10
192.168.2.10
255.255.255.0
BAD
192.168.1.10
192.168.2.10
255.255.0.0
GOOD
192.168.1.10
192.169.1.10
255.255.0.0

Check the network card settings for firewall activation.
Wen you have multiple network cards, XP tend to activate the firewall on 1 of the cards.

Thanks, it was the firewall. Sneaky bugger must have flipped on when I wasn't looking.
