Hey Guys - New Release Coming Shortly

Post by Rat »

Haven't been around ChunkVNC much lately... been busy with other things, (aren't we all). In any case I'm shortly gonna release a new version I've been sitting on for some time so hang in there.

I just need to modify it slightly to make it a bit more generalised, since this was written for a specific client, (who bailed anyway and had a go at me for quoting too much. I explained that I was billing based on hours not on the expectation of reselling the system multiple times... sigh!)

It has the following new features:

1. "Minimise/Maximise to system tray.
2. Configurable Connection Timeout.
3. Optional Hide on Connect.
4. An auto-connect option, (in v3.1g this is the only available mode), to support a manual "Connect" Button.
5. An optional user defined list of technicians and associated ports.
6. An option to "de-chrome" the window so that no title bar or border is shown.
7. Background monitoring of connection status.

gunsmoke,

I just started the ball rolling and I like it when others share their modifications.

An "official" release from me might take until winter with how this summer went.

At least someone can get some new code out. :)

ChunkVNC is all Supercoe's baby. I am one of the registered developer's, (at Supercoe's invitation) and have shared my modifications. Supercoe and I plan to merge our releases before the next "proper" release.

Supercoe, (like me) does ChunkVNC in whatever spare time he has available. Recently however, (for the past few months), we've both been pretty busy.

I think for the moment at least, I can recommend my [topic=17342]release[/topic] over the official ChunkVNC release, (if you're looking for additonal functionality and customisability... is that even a word?).

Cheers,
Rat ^^>//o
