I have UltraVNC X64 1.0.8.2 Full installed and running as a service on a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro (64-bit). I have edited the settings to specify an idle timeout of 30 seconds. I am connecting to the server using the 32-bit UltraVNC client in Windows XP.
It is my understanding of idletimeout based on previous experience with realvnc that after the specified idletimeout time the connection will be closed and the client process will terminate. I am not seeing this behavior with UltraVNC. In fact, the client will stay minimized indefinitely and the connection will never close, no matter how long or short the idletimeout time is. I have verified that idletimeout is set properly in the .ini file.
Is there any way to get the server to terminate client connections after a period of inactivity? Is there something I am misunderstanding or overlooking? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Idle Timeout not working (Win7 Pro x64)
Re: Idle Timeout not working (Win7 Pro x64)
Yeah, I think you're overlooking something. The newer versions of the UltraVNC viewer have an autoreconnect option turned on by default. Looks as if it's been there since 1.0.3. You can probably turn it off in the INI file.
However, I may be off base, since that feature seems intended only for reverse connections.

Edit: Another, simpler thought -- what do you mean by "inactivity"? If you have a viewer connected to a server, there is constant "activity" in the form of screen updates and handshaking. Even simple things like icon or timeclock changes in the system tray are more than enough to keep the session active...
