Is there a way to have SC prompt the client for my IP address? Instead of me "configuring" it into the SC client package?
My problem is that I don't have a static ip and I usually have to re-configure the SC client almost every time.
Apologizing in advance for my noob question.

SC & Dynamic IP
Re: SC & Dynamic IP
Either:
a. Encode a dynamic DNS name into the executable instead of an IP address (the directions are tragically misleading in that they imply you need to use an IP address).
or
b. Try something like the SCPrompt or ChunkVNC projects that have the option for manual connections.

Re: SC & Dynamic IP
SCprompt appears to be what I need. Unfortunately their download link is down. SCprompt will connect to my VNC which would be in listen mode, yes? (assuming correct port forwarding on my side)B wrote:Either:

Re: SC & Dynamic IP
I wonder of the product is still viable. All the download links I can find give me an error i.e. http://vnc2me.org/en/downloads.html?func=fileinfo&id=6B wrote:That's correct. Good luck!
"Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL" Anyone have an alternate D/L link?

Re: SC & Dynamic IP
I wouldn't worry too much. JDaus, the developer, is a frequent poster here. He's probably just got a problem with his site or hosting company.
Worst case, if he doesn't come by in the next few days, someone will probably offer to provide a mirror.
But no, I don't know of an existing mirror. (Just tried archive.org; that's the second time today they didn't have any record for a site I wanted to recover.)

You're welcome. The site's back up at present.
