Hi all
I have a client who uses a USB Dongle internet connection. I can retrieve an external IP for the computer.
So I tried to ping the IP and that is fine. I tried IPConfig.exe but it does not show me the external IP in the display only the local internal LAN IP. UltraVNC will also not connect using the external IP I get from http://www.atoutfox.org/ip.asp giving the message Failed To Connect To Server.
On the other hand TeamView has no problem connecting to this same computer and I can see the UltraVNC server icon in the system tray.
Why can't UltraVNC connect?
Please advise.
Thanks and regards

do they have only on computer ? if yes, then their ISP uses public ip address sharing, and there is no way to connect to their computer directly.venussoftop wrote:I have a client who uses a USB Dongle internet connection... teamviewer uses a repeater style server to allow viewers and servers to connect together. try looking at getting UVNC sc working, this will allow your client to connect to your listening viewer ... scprompt does similar, but uses uvnc server.venussoftop wrote:On the other hand TeamView has no problem connecting to this same computer.

Re: I can ping an IP with UVNC will Failed To Connect To Ser
They have multiple computers and I think they connect from one and share with other computers
I tried to create a UVNC-SC that was quick but I think as I had to specify the IP in the helpdesk.txt, it seems to be hardcoded to a fixed IP which mine is not. Is my understanding wrong?
How do I view one the user double-clicks on their end? Or the sharing is automatically appears on my screen? My internet connection too is shared, so does that mean, that only my computer can receive connection, can a user on my LAN get an inward connection (their external IP will be the same as mine, but the internal IP is different)
Please advise
Thanks and regards
