Target machine is dual boot, XPSP3 and Windows 7 64-bit.
Running UltraVNC 1.0.82 both on target and client machine.
(Client machine is W2KSP4.)
I can connect to the target machine fine when it's booted into XPSP3.
When I try to connect when it's booted in Win7 mode, I'm prompted
for password, and it seems to accept it, but when window opens,
it's black. Sending Ctrl-Alt-Delete has no visible effect.
If I remote desktop to the target machine, UltraVNC works
while the remote desktop is connected. It goes black again
if I disconnect remote desktop.

Black Screen when connect to Windows 7 Target Machine
Re: Black Screen when connect to Windows 7 Target Machine
This is a very familiar problem. If you search on "black screen" and Windows 7 you'll probably find more discussion.
I think the answer is to make sure you're running WinVNC as a service.
If you have UAC turned off, you might want to search on ColtB45's nice Ctrl-Alt-Del hack.

Re: Black Screen when connect to Windows 7 Target Machine
OK, reran the installer and this time checked the box asking it to
install as a service (connected via Remote Desktop). I got an error:
"Cannot install driver via RDP".
Looks like I'm checkmated until I can get back to the machine.

Re: Black Screen when connect to Windows 7 Target Machine
Are you sure that's not the video driver? I wasn't aware there was a problem installing a UVNC service under RDP.
Re: Black Screen when connect to Windows 7 Target Machine

i have a black screen
im at work at the moment but will try the video driver at home..
but would that be the issue?
