Hi,
This is not a serious bug but perhaps someone can explain it. In UltraVNC Settings - Screen Capture I have checked (only) these:
Poll Full Screen, Poll Foreground Window, Use system hookdll, Show Primary Display, Capture Alpha-Blending.
I need Alpha-Blending to handle a VB.Net app that uses a TransparencyKey color.
However, with Alpha-Blending checked; The cursor on the remote computer screen (not the copy of the screen in VNCViewer) constantly flutters if server and client are linked. Is this inevitable? I've tried on two different makes of computer but the result is the same.
Also while I'm at it: does UVNC not support unicode? I run programs that display non-latin characters like Chinese but these turn to rectangles in VNCViewer which is not really what I want!
EDIT: Moved from DSM to General -supercoe

with mirror driver, the mice don't flash with and without capture alpha-blending
without mirror driver, the mice flash with capture alpha-blending
without mirror driver, the mice NOT flash if capture alpha-blending is disabled but you won't see a lot of layers of text and images transparency.

Re: Fluttering cursor on remote computer with Alpha-Blending
Hi,
Thanks for the info.
My second point about unicode has nothing to do with UVNC. I hadn't realised that XP has to be set up for use with other characters whereas Vista is already set up to display all unicode characters.
I've been having a lot of trouble since I have begun testing UVNC on XP computers only. I've had frequent messages on both viewer and server saying that "UVNC has encountered a problem and will be closed. Do you wish to send a report to Microsoft?"
I am currently trying to lower the memory use by selecting minimal configurations but so far I haven't found the ideal setup.
Do you think using the mirror driver would be more stable or would it use more memory and cause more crashes?
Does the mirror driver enable you to see video files played on a remote computer. With my current setup only AVI files can be seen on a remote computer. All other types mpg, flv etc. are displayed as a black rectangle.
