[solved] Immediately Disconnects

Post by hoaxci5 »

I created a custom exe using
[HOST]
Remote Connection One
-connect myinfo.dyndns.org:5601 -noregistry

(myinfo replaced with correct entry)

The reason I used 5601 was I have a company I do consulting work for that also uses SC and uses that port so I know it works and is forwarded correctly. I can connect using their exe, but not mine.

Can someone help point me in the right direction? As soon as I click connect on my exe it makes a connection and then closes right away. I don't even see the client screen.

[mod]added solved to title, solution, use the correct viewer[mod]

Since you can see your EXE able to try a connection, so this should not be caused by UAC (if the EXE running on vista/seven).

- Check your firewall, make sure it allow the EXE outbound connection operation.
- Which online creator you used to create your SC.exe? Try to create another EXE with the RC23 creator. This oldest creator, although lack some features as the later one, but has a longest timeout setting when initiate the connection, which is especially useful under slow network circumstance.

I've tried both

UltraVncSC update 2009
UltraVncSC based on RC23

with the same issue. Like I said I have a working exe using the same ports from a company i contract for, so the firewall shouldn't be the issue.

Which version of VNCviewer you are using?

For that exe from the company you working for, does it use DSMPlugin?

I'm not sure how to find the answer to either of those questions.

I tested the connection with the PcHelpWare_viewer that I've been using for months, and also with the one I just downloaded from the website. Both look identical but I'm not sure where to find a version number.

All I do is enter a listen port (5601 or 5602) and click start.

This worked with both viewer files, but only with my contract server exe and not my own. Same issue of immediate disconnect happened with both viewer files.

How do I check if DSMPlugin is used?

You are using the following viewer to pick up the connection of that exe from the company you working for !!!???:

That means that EXE is a PcHelpWare server. Although PcHelpWare and SC having similar function, they are DIFFERENT PRODUCTS, and have their dedicated viewer. You cannot create a SC.exe and using a PcHelpWare viewer to pick up the connection.

If you want to keep on using PcHelpWare viewer, you need to download PcHelpWare and learn how to create a PHW.exe.

Thank you for making me feel like an idiot in a nice way
It's working now that I'm using the correct viewer.
