[solved] Connection issues for a newbie

Post by Blairyc »

Hi all,

Like most i came across this recently and am trying to configure it for my IT Team's useage.

I got it working fine from a remote PC to my Windows 7 laptop over our LAN, but now ive tried the encryption method im having issues.

After reading the forums i decided to leave the windows 7 machine and just trya nd get it running XP to XP and am still having issues.

When i run the exe on the remote machine it says it connects straight away. but nothing appears on the machine at my end. Then when i close the remote exe i get an error message on my support machine that says "Connection failed - Error reading protocal version" and then lists various possible reasons

I know i've copied the right Key file.... any suggestions anyone?

Cheers
Blair

Hi

Never mind i sorted it. I'd downloaded the latest encryption file, but when using this you have to include it in the zip file you use when compiling, otherwise it defaults to an older version of the encryption protocal that isn't compatable.

hope it might help someone.
