How do I connect using the web client and MS Logon?

Post by Jzero »

I am using RC19.5.

When I try to connect to http://server:5800 the applet starts but it justs asks for VNC Authentication password instead of the Windows logon credentials.

Is there a way to use the MS Logon through the web client?

Thanks!

java and vncviewer both support mslogon.
Is the mslogon option activated ?

Java does NOT support the encryption plugin. NO crypto api
available for java.

not sure if he was hinting at something but I will point this out.

If you are using this over the internet, and someone is listening... you have effectively given them a username and pw to your network via this..

If its an internal network.. I guess you should be watching this yourself :-)

Yes, I did up on that :). Does that also imply that when connecting using the UltraVNC viewer that the NT user/pass is NOT transmitted in the clear?

With the right packet sniffer you can figure out what it is sending across the network. It is not as simple as clear text but it is something that can be looked at from what I understand.
