Hi,
I'm new and i need help. I'm trying to setup the UVNC and I've managed to connect from my PC (Vista) to my LAN PC (XP). Where I've installed the "server" on the XP machine and installed the viewer on the Vista machine.
Now, the question is how would i be able to do that if the remote computer is over the internet? Does that mean I have to install the "server" on that pc? I've tried using the SC but it wouldn't connect. Anyone can help me to clarify this or tell me what's the best way to configure this? Also, I believe i need to setup port forwarding, but i'm still confused which PC should i forwarded to?

SingleClick is more for tech support. I'm assuming you're not trying to do that.
The server gets installed on the machine you wish to access remotely. The viewer gets installed on the machine you're sitting at when you wish to use remote access. It can also be simply copied to a USB flash drive, just make sure you grab the zip/unzip DLL-files for file transferring.
To access a machine remotely you need to set up portforwarding on the network of the machine you wish to access that's running the server. PortForward.com gives instructions on many different routers so use that to set it up. You'll need port 5900 if you plan on using the viewer or 5800 and 5900 if you plan on using a browser.

Actually, that is my main purpose. To provide support remotely. I've tried installing the SingleClick, but it seems to be not working. Would this work, if I simply just run the viewer and port forward the ports. Then the end user simply run the SingleClick? Or do we need to install the UltraVNC Server? SingleClick works a bit differently. You create an executable that you send to your client which is the Server. You run the Viewer in "listening" mode which will wait for connections. Your client runs the Server which will initiate the connection.
Since in this case the Server is initiating an outbound connection, your client does not need to set up any port forwarding on their network (however their security software may warn them and they'll need to allow the connection to take place).
Since you're running the Viewer in listening mode, you'll need to set up portforwarding on your router and allow the connection in your security software. I don't recall off the top of my head which ports SingleClick needs, but it definitely needs port 5500 and may need 5800 and/or 5900. The ports are absolutely configurable if the defaults aren't what you're looking for.
