Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user acount
Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user acount
Hi,
I'm having problem with my ultravnc 1.0.8.2 in Windows 7, after connecting to a user I want to support, and decided I want to login in our administrator account, when I log off in the user account my viewer closes / or I get disconnected.
I can switch from 1 account to another when the OS is Windows XP, without getting disconnected.
could anyone help me please?
thanks in advance

Are you running UltraVNC as a service?

Re: Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user ac
Yes, its running as a service
I've done more testing yesterday, and I found out that when my computer have just booted up and it's still in the windows7 login screen, I can connect using ultra vnc viewer, but after I log in in one of the account and later decided to log off the user account I get disconnected again.
In windows xp I can go to 1 account to another, as long as I dont use the switch user function.
thanks
edit:
I've also encountered another bug while testing 1.0.8.2, I've been trying to change the settings and see if my problem from above statement will be solve, but after connecting, logging off, disconnected, logging in for several times, the ultra vnc won't accept my password, I tried changing my password in the computer where the ultra vnc server is installed, but the error still keep popping out (authentication failed)

Re: Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user ac
I am experiencing the same/similar results.
I can use UltraVNC Viewer 1.0.8.2 to connect to a Win7 Pro 32 OS running UltraVNC server 1.0.8.2 if:
A.) no user has ever logged in since last boot
B.) a user is logged in
If I select "Logoff" from the user's session my VNC connection dies and I can not reestablish. If I select "Switch User" I will see the user selection screen but have no control and the session dies shortly later.
I have configured the server for MS domain logins and added the administrators group for full access. I can connect with any member of the administrators group.

Re: Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user ac
finally someone who can relate to my problem...
Everyday I've been checking ultra vnc and tight vnc site's to see for new updates.
Tight VNC is working fine with this kind of situation.
you can try it if you want LoudMusic
the only problem is you can't send ctrl+alt + del function to the remote pc
here is the site if you want to try it out, yet it's still in beta

Re: Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user ac
MAYBE this is related to a similar bug regarding Explorer restarting as described at [topic=17567][/topic]
And if you need a "single click" version based on TightVNC I can recommend the Gitso project.

Re: Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user ac
I am also having the same problem.
Setup
UltraVNC 1.0.8.2
MS Domain auth
Everything works perfect on XP
Windows 7 works great but no ctrl + alt + del and I get disconnected at CTRL-ALT-DEL.
What should we do?

Re: Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user ac
We're having the exact same problem. After some research, I decided the issue has something to do with the multi-user (fast user) switching support, but disabling FUS on the Win7 box didn't yield the desired effect. No matter what I've tried so far, the session is always disconnected when I Log Off the Win7 PC. I want my VNC session to remain unaffected.
Thanks,
Matt

I am having this same issue, anyone find an answer? I installed tightVNC server and it does not do this, but we want Ultra for the MS Domain auth.
Thanks

Re: Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user ac
I think that's just the way it works in the current version, due to the changes in Vista/Win7/8 security. There were plans to change that in a newer version.

The viewer has the option to auto reconnect in background.
You still get disconnected, but the viewer wait until the server is restarted in the new active session
and continue like it stayed connected.
Viewer ->options -> Reconnect attempts and timeout ( put something like 4 with timeout 30)

Re: Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user ac
Old thread, but if anybody comes along looking for a solution to this problem like I did, here is how I fixed it!
In the "admin" properties of VNC server, under the "Incoming Connections" section, make sure that "Auto" or "Ports" are selected as the "Display Number or Ports to use". For some reason, mine was on Display #0. This means that once the current display session ends (ie you logout), the display is no longer accessible.
Changing this option to Auto fixed it for me.

Re: Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user ac
I just wanted to throw my $.02 in with how I fixed it. I found that SAS is what was killing service access. This also solved the problem of the VNCViewer not being able to send ctrl-alt-del at the login screen. Here are the steps to do it locally with gpedit.msc otherwise, you can implement it in Domain GPO:
Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Logon Options. Double Click on 'Disable or enable software Secure Attention Sequence.' This will open a new window... Change the setting to 'enabled' and in the options drop down box change it to 'Services'.
Hope this helped someone.

Re: Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user ac
I've tried the above 2 fixes but still facing the disconnect issue on log off. Any other fixes?
I'm currently using ver 1.1.9.0 on Windows 7 64-bit.

I am having the same issues. I updated to the latest version but that did not fix my problem. Any ideas or other fixes???
Re: Gets disconnected when I log off from a windows7 user ac
uVNC still disconnects when you log the current user off. To my knowledge, there is no way around this currently and would require re-engineering of the software to accomplish. The auto-reconnect option is the only "work around" available at this time.
