It is time for a 2010 Graphics Redesign LOGO, Installers etc

I propose a new Redesign of the UltraVNC logo and installer images
as well as icons etc.

For Many years I have a psychological drawback with
the Eye. But I understand that the eye is the Legacy of UltraVNC,
so I propose to change it a bit to be more "polite"...

Rudi, Redge, X3, please take a look at some first drafts
I created today and tell me if you like the concept.

Other people also are welcomed to express their opinion and
share new ideas about changing the Logo and/or icons

Is this EYE a legacy then ?

Check these icons 64 32 16 pix and logos

for clarify: (less spend time)
2 think icon must be simple
closed eye is required, disconnected, closed connection (low greyed color)
half eye is required, pending, intermediate status (orange color ?)
opened eye is required, connected, opened connection, (orange or dark grey, watched color)

i like the techfan icon but was not selected !

we don't need to change the redesign logo at all, we can still at style of now.
the advantage word uvnc in the icon, we know asap their speaking about uvnc, not another.

the main complaint is the eye still open while there no uvnc viewer connected.

Those graphics are great, Exillion. Don't get discouraged because they're not quite right for UltraVNC...the actual designs are very well done, and we should be glad to have someone with such talent taking an interest. A little tweaking based on what redge said and you may have some winners.

Hello to all

Thank you for your comments.

The problem I have with the "computer like" icons is that they
are too small at 16x16 and they will look like any other icon
out there in the market.

The color makes people distinguish when the connection is idle,
the server has an outgoing connection to a repeater or
the server has accepted one (or more - another color?) viewers.

Redge, the closed eye has to be a horizontal line, that may not be
visible to people. The connection to the repeater has to be something
like an arrow (?) and the connection from one viewer has to be an open
eye and from many viewers an open eye with a different color.

imho, color also has to be present there ...

I have an idea and could design very fast something else in a
channel like connection to moreorless visible dots, but that would not
have a legacy to the eye.

I will post the above proposed icons today (I am at GMT+2)

take care only horizontal eye and the status bar, good design.

listening, No Connection the closed eye could be little more dark grey

to clean:
remove the background of eye.

you need to apply same to big icon 32x32 and 64x64
