Any updates coming?

Post by ich »

I've been using PCHW for quite a while (with the SC GUI which I like better) due to inclusion of encryption, but I feel like I must be missing out on something since UVNC has had so much activity and PCHW is still at V1.0

Any chance some of the advances will be incorporated into a PCHelpWare 2?

If not, is the Single Click program keeping abreast of advances in the UVNC package?

Thanks again for all you guys do!

Lots of the SC features have been added into the main uvnc executable.

Is there a specific feature you are looking for, something that your current setup of PCHW doesn't do?

Not to keep tooting my own horn but take a look at my project ChunkVNC:
[topic=15764][/topic]
  • * Encryption
    * Always features the latest uvnc version
    * XP/Vista/7/Mac support
    * Opensource
    * Free!
I don't quite know what else a person would want :P or at least nobody has mentioned a feature request!

Thanks for the reply supercoe.

PCHelpware is working just fine for me so far. I only ask because it seems like UVNC has been incrementing a lot over the past months and I'm "worried" that I'm missing something :)

A quick look at ChunkVNC looks pretty good, but I haven't spent enough time looking at your documentation to see if it can be "branded" with my own logo. Even if it doesn't work for my purposes, it looks like you spent a lot of effort on it, thanks for your contributions to the community.

UVNC does increment quite a bit, that is exactly why I've stuck to creating a wrapper instead of modifying the UVNC source. It allows me (or anyone) to instantly put the newest release into ChunkVNC.

As far as the logo goes, you certainly can change it to whatever you like. ChunkVNC is release as source code and is compiled by you with a simple click of a batch file. If you look in the SRC\ChunkVNC_Files directory you will find logo.jpg. Keep it at 450x90 pixels and you'll be set!
