Per Rudi's post, [topic=15865][/topic] some updates have been made to the single click creator to support Vista/Windows 7 and if we are using the RC4 encryption plugin, we should be using the version of MSRC4Plugin.dsm that comes with v. 1.0.6 of the viewer.
I have spent several hours trying to get the RC4 encryption to work with the updated single click creator at (http://support1.uvnc.com/cgi-bin/upload4.pl) to no avail.
In a different post, [topic=10570][/topic] Redge states to use the version of the MSRC4Plugin.dsm that comes back in the SC executable. I extracted this dsm, regenerated the RC4 key and created a new SC executable. Again, no go.
I think I have now tried every combination of dsm file and VNC viewer version possible, but keep receiving the same error:
"The Plugin cannot be loaded. Please check its name integrity." And yes, I have tried various other solutions that members of the forum have posted previously regarding this problematic error. This was working for me with a different version of the dsm, VNC viewer and RC4 key, so I am sure all of my shortcuts that actually launch the viewer into listening mode are correct.
Does anyone have any idea what might be happening? Thanks for any and all help.
Vincent

Single Click -- MSRC4Plugin.dsm Headache!
Re: Single Click -- MSRC4Plugin.dsm Headache!
This info is outdated. The MSRC4Plugin.dsm has been changed a lot after, and the bundled plugin is not workable with the new SC. In fact, one of them (come with 1.0.6.3), will return the error as you mentioned on some OS:pittdaydreamer wrote:Per Rudi's post, [topic=15865][/topic] some updates have been made to the single click creator to support Vista/Windows 7 and if we are using the RC4 encryption plugin, we should be using the version of MSRC4Plugin.dsm that comes with v. 1.0.6 of the viewer.

Yes, redge is corrected. And you are corrected too to use it to generate the key, and created a new SC executable.pittdaydreamer wrote:In a different post, [topic=10570][/topic] Redge states to use the version of the MSRC4Plugin.dsm that comes back in the SC executable. One Important Step:
You should run the vncviewer in listening mode with that MSRC4Plugin.dsm (extracted from new SC.exe), and the key it generated. DO NOT USE THE DSMPLUGIN COME WITH 1.0.6.x

Re: Single Click -- MSRC4Plugin.dsm Headache!
Okay, it is working now. You can no longer specify the absolute path to the MSRC4Plugin.dsm plugin. It seems that the vncviewer.exe assumes that the plugin is in the current working directory. And, yes, I had to use the MSRC4Plugin.dsm that was generated by the SC Creator. Thanks.

Re: Single Click -- MSRC4Plugin.dsm Headache!
I think I'm back to the beginning now.
Using vnc 1.0.8.2, fresh install
Created an sc online from the custom.zip contents.
Extracted the msrc4plugin.dsm from the resulting sc creator .exe file.
The plugin appears to be older than I one bundled with vnc.
Pasted the msrc4plugin.dsm in the vncview folder, replacing the prior one.
When I run the viewer and try to configure the plugin I get,
Plugin cannot be loaded, please check its integrity.

Re: Single Click -- MSRC4Plugin.dsm Headache!
Got it.
For ultravnc 1.0.8.2, you need to use the sc creator UltraVNCSC update 2009.
http://www.uvnc.com/pchelpware/sc/creator.html
Scroll down to the bottom of the web page to find it. This ensures your MSRC4Plugin.dsm plugins are the same version for both sc and viewer.

I appreciate your post as I'm having the exact same issue. We've installed the 64 bit version of uvnc onto a Windows 7 64 bit machine. I've taken your advice and created a new SC using the SC update 2009. I only put in the following files:
background.bmp
helpdesk.txt
icon1.ico
icon2.ico
logo.bmp
winvnc.exe
When it comes back in the exe, I extract it with 7zip and put the new MSRC4Plugin.dsm into the root directory of uvnc (c:\program files\uvnc).
Ultimately, I am still getting the same complaint that it can't be loaded. What am I doing wrong? It'll pull up options for SecureVNC just fine but I don't think I can use that with SC.
You obviously lack the creative genius to integrate Legos and Duplos.
Re: Single Click -- MSRC4Plugin.dsm Headache!
I am using windows7 64 bit for my ultravnc install as well. Running sc on xp computers.
I left the MSRC4Plugin.dsm for ultravnc alone, the way it came in the default, fresh 1.0.8.2 install.
I uploaded my zip file to sc creator 2009. No winvnc.exe was uploaded, just the files that came in the custom folder (helpdesk, rc4key were modified and replaced respectively).
I did not extract anything from sc, nor replace any files in my vnc folder.
Make sure your rc4.key files are the same.
