"Winvnc -reinstall" not available at version 1.0.8.1?

Hi,

I tried to create an unattended install version with VNC 1.0.8.1. So I created an batch file to copy all the VNC files to a new computer, now I wanted to reinstall it cause I needed the autostart service. But now the problem is that the command, which we used in the older version, "winvnc -reinstall", is not available in this version.

If I type the command "winvnc -reinstall" into the command prompt, the following error appears:

Isn't the upgrade setup exe working ?

We are already using the newest version of 1.0.8.1. Our mainproblem is that thc "winvnc -reinstall" command is not working in this version.

Have you removed this command in newer versions?

I noticed this in 1.0.6.5, nobody responded. Very frustrating.

The command "winvnc -reinstall" is not available at newer versions. The new command is "winvnc -install", with this command the service will install and start automaticly.


After about ~4-5 hours of testing we found accidently the new command..

Please update your website tutorials for newer VNC versions!

The old -reinstall doesn't exist anymore, it replaced a running service.
-install, just install/start the service

A real reinstall can only be done by the upgrade exe.
The update exe can upgrade all 1.0.5 or higher versions
*stop service
*replace exe
*start service
online
-you are connected to a 105 server
-transfer the upgrade exe
-run exe
-viewer disconnect and reconnect to the upgraded server
