Hello,
it would be very comfortable for users, if there was a history list for the host input field of the "Add New Client" window of the VNC server. Such a list, which could be accessible by dropdown, would allow users to select their recently connected clients instead of typing it in again and again. I think of a dropdown list just like the one available in the VNC server input field of the VNC viewer.
Thank you in advance!
Regards,
fuggi

Server Connects to Viewer GUI
I third the above suggestion. However there is a more fundamental concept at hand.
With the desire/need to have the server run in service mode and now the firewalls etc requiring the server to call out to connect - I believe more features on the server selection of where to connect to is needed.
There are many possible places to do this.
1) SC with the helpdesk.txt feature works great - it only needs a BIGGER option to include what ever is needed to support the better video capture features and a SERVICE option to run it as a service. Makes a bigger download file - what a few seconds for 3 MB not a problem if you want that functionality. We would see the same screen stuff - it would just connect via a service based server.
2) Could make use of the system tray icon and allow via the ini for addional predefined hosts with a "Connect To ABC" menu choice just below the "add new client" there now.
3) As this feature suggested nave the actual mini "add new client" window have a drop down select list that remembers prior entries - if remember is hard - then let us pre-populate the drop down box with ini based entries like in helpdesk.txt does with hosts.
I have made a great looking SC and it works great on XP machines where running as service is not as necessary. On Win 7 were we need to install the full version to utilize hooks and mirror drivers and run as service the omly connect methods are the -autoreconnect - connect option or the right click the system tray and "add new client" where we type in the whole address each time.
If there are other already made ways to do the above - please enlighten me.
While new to the board - I once sold a 10MB hard drive for $25,000 that is how far back I go - and have been doing application development and supporting those programs over 40 years. And yes - learning VB and compiling my own version is a final desperate option which I prefer not to have to do.
