SC is too slow to update when used for Vista and Windows 7

Post by 2haerim »

I've been using SC quite a long time and it is a such a good program even if not perfect.

One main problem with SC is that it updates the screen so slowly (I think once in a minute or so) when the remote pc is running Vista or Windows.
So, it is almost impossible to use SC for Vista or Windows 7.

Can anyone help me solve this problem?

thx

The problem is the windows theme with Aero (the theme with transparent windows)

If changing the Windows theme to "Windows Classic", the screen will update with normal speed. I guess this is solved in a newer release of uvnc.

Just did my first Win7 SC support episode using viewer 1.0.8.2 here and it was unusably slow.

The winvnc.exe in my SC is the one from 2007:
  • 05/21/2007 06:16 PM 323,584 winvnc.exe
Is there a newer winvnc.exe for use in SC? In the SC GT thread there is a mention of an August, 2009, version.

  • - The server is the SC ( update august 2009)
How do I get this?
