Password probs when server runs as service

Post by sg2001 »

Hello,
I am trying server version 19.5 on W2K3 and the viewer on XPSP1. I'd like to start the server as service. How do I set a password for the connection? It is possible to connect when the service is stopped, the server is started manually and the password is set.

I would have expected to see the eye-icon whenever the vnc service is started?

Cheers

on the server machine -
go to start - run - programs - ultravnc - server -

This is where you can "Install as a service"

&

Show default settings - if you set this here it will set it for the server machine.

After setting up the default settings and installing it as a service you should be able to reboot that server and remotely connect through the service. Or if you can not reboot the server start the service through service manager and log off... and try to connect then.

I thought I would find these in the admin properties. Never checked in the start menu :-) Sorry for that.

Great, that works now!

However the performance of the session is worse when starting the server from control panel. When starting it as user process it is pretty fast, no difference to RDP. Is that normal or can I tune this somewhere?
