Slow response

Post by vladio »

A couple weeks ago I had to remove the older version of ultra vnc from my pc and then reinstalled the new version - ultravnc w32 server 1.0.6.5. This is on a home made windows xp pro machine. The original version worked flawlessly with no problem. The new version is very slow with a couple seconds lag when typing. If I reboot the pc and connect with a remote computer it seems to be fine for a short period then reverts back to being slow.

Could there be a setting that needs set? Any info is appreciated as my email is done on the pc and it's hard to type with the lag.

I use a Mac Pro to remotely work on the pc and am using the built in software on the mac to connect. Again, this worked really well until the new version was installed.

Any advice is appreciated,
Vlad

replace winvnc.exe on your xp home

right click on winvnc systray (near of the clock)
stop uvnc_service
extract and copy the file where is located your ultravnc
http://www.uvnc.eu/download/ultravnc_10 ... ck_w32.zip
Start... All Programs... UltraVNC... UltraVNC Server (program)
right click on winvnc systray
start uvnc_service

from Mac, try to connect again to your XP Home

also check if there no download
like windows update, p2p software, spyware, virus, anything using your remote connection in background on XP
is your network connection stable and enough fast ?
