Bug 1.0.6.5 Login screen not refreshed

Post by alexchevrier »

Hi,
I deployed ultravnc 1.0.6.5 on about 2000 computers with a home made msi and I have a problem. The login screen isn't refrehed. You have to click on the refresh button every time you make a change : CTRL+ALT+DEL (refresh), enter username (refresh), enter password and click enter (refresh)...

I tried to uninstall my msi and used the official installer, but the problem is still there. All the following tests were done using the installer and not my msi

When the desktop appears, the problem is gone and the refresh is working.

I tried to reboot and log in on the server computer. Then I used vncviewer to join this server (alreagy logged in) and the refresh is working fine.

I also tried to reboot the computer with the server and wait 5 minutes before login in with the viewer and I still have the refresh problem.

It seems that the problem is really only with the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen

Hi,

I'm facing the same issue on Windows XP SP3 even when playing with all admin refresh possibilities.

solved in 1076 (beta) but other bug added :(
[topic=15988][/topic]
that bug is solved in this server
[topic=16000][/topic]

Try 10761

The beta us just because it's not full tested, when no big bug found
files are renamed to 106X (stable)

Finial Update:
Problem was found in the gnome configuration files, It seems to get corrupted when using not standard configurations of the Desktop.
Alt+CTRL+Backspace on the Servers host corrected the problem.
Also one can remove the .gnome, .gconf, and .metacity files on your
server side and restart to get a default configuration restored.
The problem is not with UltraVnc. :-D

Correction:
There is a vnc display refresh problem connecting with Redhat Linux :
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 6); using the provided builtin, internal, vncserver to export the root window :0
This may be a configuration problem I will get back on this; -

:Oops:
Is there a 64 bit solution? Refresh problem
I connect to a redhat linix box from other windows sources with ultra vnc viewer just fine. So problems with the Linux VNC server are out the window.

I am running vista 64 home prieimum; Yeah I know, that the problem....
With the OS updates I have noticed that the viewer refresh problem comes and goes. Lately the refresh problem has stayed.

Do you have an idea when this will be released as stable version?

Thanks!
