connecting to any account on windows xp home

Post by Shaba1 »

I have been using ultravnc both at my home and at my work for 4 years now. I have moved to a garage apartment because of a lay off. The machine I use has ultra vnc view on it. There is another OLDER machine in the house that I am trying to connect to becasue it has a printer on it.

The problem is that machine is a windows xp home machine. There are 4 accounts on that machine 2 limited(kids) and two administrators(Me and the owner of the house). What I would like to be able to do is as soon as that machine is powered on is to have uvnc start up even though no ones account is log on yet. And even when someone does long on weather its and administrator or one of the kids to be able to connect from this machien to that machine in order to print documents. Is this possible.

The problem I have not is that if I log onto that machine (from its keyboard) with my administrator account and start ultrvnc everything is fine. I can also put ultravnc in the startup folder of the start menu to have it run eveytime *I* log onto that machine. The thing is I am not logged on there all the time. It defeates the purpose to have to walk into the living room and log on with my account then come back to the garage connect from my machine to that machine via ultravnc then copy the document to may account on that machine and print it.

I would like to do all that without having to do all the walking. Just turn that machine on in the morning and not matter who is logged on or even if no one is be able to connect to it and print.

Sure this can be accomplished.

This is simply a network printer sharing problem, and you don't need UltraVNC to make this work.

Follow this thread (How to Share Printer in Windows XP) for the detail of the setup.
