Mutiple VNC connections
Mutiple VNC connections
I would like to find out whether it works if I try to connect two servers on my windows XP workstation? I have installed UltraVNC with MSRC4plugin-122.dsm one of windows server 2k3, it works fine but I am not sure if I install the same software with MSRC4 plugin and it will allow me use the same key to connect to the second server?
Re: Mutiple VNC connections
ultravnc server with dsmplugin allow only single ultra vncviewer with dsmplugin connection
ultravnc server without dsmplugin allow multi ultra vncviewer without dsmplugin connections
ultravnc server without dsmplugin allow multi ultra vncviewer without dsmplugin connections
UltraVNC 1.0.9.6.1 (built 20110518)

Re: Mutiple VNC connections
Yes, now I know it, but it took me 5 hours of setting, installing, searching in help... It didn't strike me that there would be such bug.
Please write this to web - http://uvnc.com/features/encryption.html, it will save much time to many people.

So, 2 separate Windows Server 2003 boxes.ginger wrote:I would like to find out whether it works if I try to connect two servers on my windows XP workstation? 1st server you have installed UltraVNC Server, enabled the MSRC4 plugin and generated a random key?
2nd server you can certainly go ahead and install UltraVNC Server and enable the MSRC4 plugin. Copy the rc4.key file from the 1st server to the 2nd.
Now you can connect to either one using your XP workstation with the same key.

Re: Mutiple VNC connections
Is there any particular reason why connections are limited to ONE when utilizing the DSM plugins?redge wrote:ultravnc server with dsmplugin allow only single ultra vncviewer with dsmplugin connection

We have several situations that require multiple (encrypted) connections into a single system. The limit of a single connection brings some concern in our environment.
Re: Mutiple VNC connections
yes, the core of winvnc 1.0.6.5 dsm is not multi-threaded.Is there any particular reason why connections are limited to ONE when utilizing the DSM plugins?
But a user adzm was fixed this in their custom WinVNC bug unlocking the basis feature of VNC (share the remote screen)

Re: Mutiple VNC connections
So, will this `bugfix` be included in an upcoming build?... attempted to use the dsm plugins by adzm with the latest release (on a Windows 2000SP4 box)... when I click `config` I get an error: `The plugin cannot be loaded. Please check its integrity`.redge wrote:yes, the core of winvnc 1.0.6.5 dsm is not multi-threaded.Is there any particular reason why connections are limited to ONE when utilizing the DSM plugins?

not tested on windows 2000, there no beta testers.attempted to use the dsm plugins by adzm with the latest release (on a Windows 2000SP4 box)... when I click `config` I get an error: `The plugin cannot be loaded. Please check its integrity`.
as well, we won't have this OS.

error occurs with plugins from here:redge wrote:not tested on windows 2000, there no beta testers.attempted to use the dsm plugins by adzm with the latest release (on a Windows 2000SP4 box)... when I click `config` I get an error: `The plugin cannot be loaded. Please check its integrity`.

what the dsmplugin name and version did you try on w2ksp4 ?
AES V3 Plugin 3.0.1.8
ARC4 V3 Plugin 3.0.1.8
these all work fine:
http://msrc4plugin.home.comcast.net/~ms ... index.html
And, yes (as stated above), working with Win2kSP4. I am looking for a solution (preferably no to low cost) that will allow one or more encrypted sessions into a VNC (or equivalent) server... to go out onto ~2000 systems (1400 of which are currently Win2kSP4).
Re: Mutiple VNC connections
replaced by SecureVNCerror occurs with plugins from here:
AES V3 Plugin 3.0.1.8
ARC4 V3 Plugin 3.0.1.8
try again and send log of vncviewer with plugin and server with plugin to e-mail to adzm wrote on their website.

Maybe could find solution or workaround for you for free or with donations for fix it depend of your request.

Re: Mutiple VNC connections
I believe I have figured out the win2k issues. As for multiple viewers, it is entirely possible with the development branch. All my dsm plugins will work with that. The functionality was at some point explicitly disabled within the server itself to prevent crashes from those using the old, nnthreafsafe versions of the plugins. So we just need to wait for a new release. At some point I may provide a beta but I am not sure if that is good etiquette.
