Hi everyone,
"I am tired to uninstalling and re-installing uvnc all version, also I tried scan my computer with many software but still I getting double ip address on the installation."
This is what is happening.
When I install the uvnc on my computer and this finish, I noticing on the bottom where the uvnc icon is located, that show 2 ip addresses, my local ip and other ip number (169.254.204.176), this ip I don't know who it is so I uninstall the software.
I looking for how to solve this problem, how can I avoid this or delete this ip on regedit
Any comment it will help
Thank you

Re: UVNC installation and I get double ip, spyware or what?
go to command prompt
press Start -> Run
then type
CMD
and press enter
a black box will open, in that box type ifconfig
whatever is the output in that blackbox paste it over here, we will be able u better with that info.

Re: UVNC installation and I get double ip, spyware or what?
most likely you have 2 ipaddresses in your computer - like the LAN and modem or 2 LAN cards - the ifconfig will tell you exactly that,
post the output here and i or somebody will tell you what is the matter
and by the way there is no need to uninstall the software if it is showing 2 ip addresses because it shows 2 ip address in the tooltips - that is perfectly normal behavior

Re: URGENT UVNC installation and I get double ip
Thank you for you help but is not that I am having, I know about ipconfig, I know my local ip on the network and the ip on the wan. The thing is that one of this is not on my computer or isp.
Look like my computer has been accessed from other location because I left the computer with uvnc host and I notice was on my computer.
Is not normal that when I check the ultravnc icon with the mouse on the bottom, show 2 ip addresses, my on the network and other that is not my.
I installed uvnc on all my computers and the only one is happening this is one. I am very suspicious about this.
URGENT any some help

Re: UVNC installation and I get double ip, spyware or what?
download autoruns from http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/Autoruns.zip
unzip it on the desktop, then
remove the network connection.... that should break all the network connections as well as ultravnc
then start the computer in safe mode and search the winvnc*.exe
and delete all the files that come up
also run autoruns, let it scan for everything -should take a bit of time then let search for the blue icon again in the tab where is says everything, select anything with the blue eye icon and press delete, answer yes to "Are you sure you want to delete autorun of XXX ?" and then reboot your computer
your computer should be cleaned of this ultravnc that is being used as spyware - as you say...

Re: UVNC installation and I get double ip, spyware or what?
If your local IP address is returned as 169.254.y.z with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0, the IP address was assigned by the Automatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA) feature of Windows XP Professional. This assignment means that TCP/IP is configured for automatic configuration, that no DHCP server was found, and that no alternative configuration is specified. This configuration has no default gateway for the interface.
This is a private ip address that can't be used for external access.
You have 2 network cards (lan wlan) one of the cards get his ip address
via dhcp, but no dhcp server is available. In that case you get a fake
private ip address on that card.

pasting ifconfig output over here would have helped me or Rudi De Vos who posted above to tell you what exactly is the problem - i think you should still post your ifconfig output.a black box will open, in that box type ifconfig

Re: UVNC installation and I get double ip, spyware or what?
really better check your network config
Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections
there no spyware at all except if you download your uvnc from unknown and unsafety source

It could happen if you have installed any virtual machine and UVNC is showing your Virtual Machine's IP address too.
