AWE (at wits end). Have installed Ultravnc and trying to use SC. Also have acct with dyndns because of Dynamic ip. Using Win XP,SP3, Trendnet TEW452BRP router. ISP is WildBlue Satellite.
Problem is setting up port forwarding on router. I can get SC to work great on my own network but from anyone else...no go (I know, same ol' story) Anyway, I've read dozens of forum posts and tutorials on port forwarding, router setup, SC setup, etc. Still can't configure my port forwarding correctly. Which ip# to put in? Do I need repeater? All attempts fail. I know I'm missing a piece of the puzzle. Any help from the network Kings greatly appreciated.

It's quite simple when you understand the logic.
but for simple straightforward instruction:
1. the pc that you use to help people should have the same ip all the time.
either by entering it manually on the network card tcp/ip properties or by configuring it in the router's dhcp server static host list.
2. after choosing what port will be used to connect to your pc ( i.e 5500 ) and configuring it in the helpdesk.txt you should configure it in your router
which is under access>virtual server
it has 5 fields to fill and it should look like that if you chose ip 192.168.1.100 for your pc and port 5500:
Name: VNC helpdesk
Protocol: TCP
private port: 5500
public port: 5500
Lan server: 192.168.1.100
That's it, it should work fine.

Thanks Royep All was set as you described. But, I do have a setting under ROUTING - STATIC. Should I be entering there as well?

If your internet setup is : Internet < Router > PC
then usually there is no need to edit routing information in the router since the routing table dynamically changes according to connection settings.
If configuring port forwarding didn't solve the problem, perhaps it is something else such as your routers firewall settings or pc firewall settings.
Try disabling these for debugging purposes and see if it solved the problem, then you'll know where to focus.
Also i would suggest you to compile helpdesk.txt with your current ip address to deny problem with the dynamic dns update.

Well, time has passed and the net result is, somewhere I messed up my home network and my laptop doesn't exist. That's another story. I contacted DynDns help and they said it seems Wildblue is forcing a proxy and messing the whole thing up. They haven't got back to me further. My problem seems to lie with them bouncing my ip around even using a DDNS. Will update as I find more. Thanks for your interest thus far.
