Permission denied: uncheck[_] Protect my computer..

I installed Ultravnc on my computer, and got this error when I went to hit ok on what account to use.

Permission denied: uncheck[_] Protect my computer...in run as dialog or use user with write permission.

I see no box labeled like that.

Did I do something wrong?

I've got the same error, because my OS is in another language
PT-BR, how can I solve this if my %programfiles% is not in english ?
ex: C:\Arquivos de Programas\UltraVnc

Just installed the 1.0.6.4 FULL and get the same error. Windows XP SP3, default directory install and still get this error. The account in the dialog box after you click Apply from the Admin property page says:

Current user (WHEELERS\john)

My account is a Domain Admin account, the group Domain Admins is in the local XP Administrators group, and the Administrators group has Full Control of the c:\program files\ultravnc folder.

Something else broken?

I have just installed this version and I am getting the exact same error every time I reboot my machine. Is there a workaround to solve this exceedingly annoying problem?

In that case, use the uvnc_settings.exe to make the changes.
Same options, but after changes, server need to be restarted before they take effect.


This doesn't use the runas function what seems broken with domain admins.

%programfiles% is variable and standard to all language and automatically replaced by your language

in french is translated to folder: "Programmes"

I am getting nowhere fast.

I have a Japanese PC with the Japanese version of windows XP home SP3.

I cannot get past this. I have tried changing all the language settings to English. And tried everything I could understand on this thread.

I cannot understand what this means:
