hypothetical problem

Post by menash »

i'm using dyndns address that(almost...) always track my dynamic IP Address(with the help of their updater software).
my updater does'nt always work, so sometimes my dyndns address don't match my IP address.
if one of my friends suddenly will open his ultravnc server(configured as reverse connection to my dyndns address), or ultravnc SC, and my dyndns address doesn't match my ip address, hypothetically he can rich someone else's ultravnc viewer that can harm(or do something else) his computer.
of course, it's not very reasonable that it will happen, but it could be :-).

is ther an option to insert to a reverse connection -- using the server(1.0.6.4) or SC -- demand for a password, so the viewer must insert a password, and without it, the remote controll will reject?

thanks :-)

If you use an encryption plugin
-reverse connection ask password ( key plugin == password)
-or both systems need to have the same key file. (rc4.key)
