Java app JDownloader shows up invisible or black in 1.0.6.4

Post by Uter »

If I connect to a host PC running JDownloader the window for JD shows up either invisible or black. If I disconnect and connect via Windows Remote Desktop, then disconnect RD, then reconnect with UVNC the window appears normal. Since JD is a java app I assume some other java apps must have an issue also.

Had the same problem, solved it like this:

As admin (never checked as user, may work still):
Right-click tray-icon --> properties
Uncheck "Video Hook Driver" --> Apply/OK

You can do this, while connected with the client.
You'll see a brief screen refresh and voila jDownloader ...
No restart required ...

When you're done recheck the "Video Hook Driver", as it saves a lot CPU-power...

btw:
I have "capture alpha blending" checked, but still, if "Video Hook Driver" is enabled, I'll see no jDownloader ...

Just my 2 cents ... hope it helps ... 0:-)

The capture alpha blending option didn't work for me either even after restart of the service. Disabling the video hook driver worked though, which is strange because you would think using the hook driver would help you see an app, but in this case it makes it invisible.

mirror driver: mirror driver can only capture gdi, all stuff that bypass the gdi and write direct to the video buffer can not be captured.

capture alpha blending: The is an non mirror driver option, it instruct to capture all screen layers. ( A mirror driver only has one view, layers were already merged in the OS)
